This is journalism. Audio, photos, video, blogging, web 2.0 and I guess some writing. In a changing industry, there is only one way to get ahead of the pack, and that is to be smart, innovative and neue.

Watching this for a second time. Fantastic documentary about the journalism industry.
How can people not be happy? I understand stuff happens, but at the end of the day, there always has to be something to be happy about. At least that’s my thought.
A big day for America(n Samoa)
Life’s Little Victory of the Day: Until last Tuesday, American Samoa’s national soccer team was mostly known for two things: Being tied with San Marino for last place in FIFA’s ranking system; and for helping Australia set the record for the largest victory in an international soccer match by losing a 2002 World Cup qualifying match 31 to 0.
That’s all still true today, but one thing did change on Tuesday: American Samoa snapped a 30-game losing streak, winning its first international soccer match since 1994.
Credit for the 2-1 win over Tonga likely goes to head coach Thomas Rongen, who joined American Samoa after being fired from his position as head coach of the Under-20 United States men’s national team back in May. “This is going to be part of soccer history, like the 31-0 (defeat) against Australia was part of history,” said Rongen.
American Samoa may just be warming up: Just two days later, the team finished their match against Cook Islands with a tie. They are now one win away from advancing to the second round of World Cup qualifying for the first time in team history.

The moment has arrived. Here’s how this works: Starting right now, you have 24 hours to produce and submit your work. We’ll take the next 24 to select, edit, design and lay everything out. The end result will be a beautiful glossy paper magazine. And a super sharp digital edition.
And this…
On our way to Seattle for the first leg of the rafting trip and to make the time go faster I’m reading a book. An actual paper book! Thanks @marksluckie for the “Digital Journalists Handbook” so I can keep busy.
Too funny.

I’m probably late to the boat on this one (as I usually am), but this is a very cool website/app. Aptly named Cool Hunting, this site reminds me of something that LoMo probably visits all the time. Also their iPad app is really slick. Good site to see some cool stuff.
